Woman makes history
Mrs Ann Tracey made history at Penrith, near Sydney, on December 1 when she became the first woman in Australia to drive in a T.A.B. betting race. She drove Penny Lopez into third place in the Intermediate Handicap. Approaching the home turn she had to make a snap decision whether to go up on the rails behind the leader or switch one off the fence and move out wide on the tricky Penrith turn.
