New 25c stamp
An overprinted Government Life stamp will be released by the New Zealand Post Office on February 1.
Designed by James Berry, of Wellington, the 25c stamp features Puysegur Point Lighthouse, at the south-west tip of Fiordland.
When originally released in 1969, the stamp was of 2sc denomination. This denomination has been overprinted with black lines and the figure 25c substituted. Bradbury' Wilkinson,
Ltd. of England printed the issue using a lithographic process. The blue and yellow stamp measures 25mm x 41mm. The stamp will be available from the Philatelic Bureau, philatelic sales positions at Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch. Dunedin. Hamilton, and Gisborne, and from all Government Life Insurance branch offices.
An unaddressed first day cover designed by R M. Conly. of Christchurch, will also be available.
