Population report
Australia’s natural population growth plummeted a huge 30 per cent between 1971 and 1976, the Minister for Immigration and Ethnic Affairs (Mr Michael MacKellar) lias said. The report shows that natural population increase (the excess of births over deaths) fell from, 165,712 in 1971 to a preliminary figure of 115,133 in 1976, just, over 30 per cent. —- Canberra,
