Buyers were selective at the North Island Border Leicester ram sale, but South Island sheep were among the top-priced lots. Twenty-four -of the 45 rams offered sold at an average of $621. Top price of $3OOO was received by N. W. Scott (Ashburton). He sold another at $1350, and a third at $lOOO, giving him top average of $l7BO. Other averages, three or more rams, were: —A. R. Marshall (Marton), 4 at $662; Westmere Farming Company (Ashburton,) 3 at $582; A. W. Low (Rakaia), 3 at $450. South Island vendors’ sales were:—N. W. Scott (Ashburton), $3OOO. to Marshall; $1350, to R. M. Haldane (Waipukurau); $lOOO to Border Leicester Imp. Soc. (Waipukurau). J. G. Gunn (Darfield), $BOO. to S. L. McKnight (Wanganui). A. W. Low (Rakaia). $550 to B. Davidson (Eketahuna); $4OO, to' G. Barnett (Dannevirke); $4OO, to J. J. White (Hastings). Westmere Farming Company (Ashburton), $4OO, to H. R.
