Queenstown project
Extensions to the twostorey Wakatipu Trading Post shopping arcade in the main street of Queenstown will begin before the end of the year. They will be designed by a Wellington architect, lan Athfield.
The South Island manager of the Fletcher Trust and Investment Company, Ltd (Mr D. D. S. Smith)
said that an attempt would be made to retain the “early New Zealand” flavour of the Trading Post.
The previous owner, Mr G. McLean, has travelled through Central Otago searching for early fittings : such as balustrades and , curiecues. He has been re- i tained as project manager. I
