PA Palmeirton North! The Foxton stayer, Glen, diedi tragically a few minutes afters the running of the Woodville; Cup on Saturday. He was pulled up very dis- j tressed near the finish of the. race, and was bleeding profusely from the mouth. As he was being led away he collapsed. He i died soon alter. Examination showed that hewas suffering from a severe haemorrhage due to a ruptured j artery in the lungs. Glen, which built up an im-i pressive record this season} before his luckless trip to Riccar-j ton. was raced by Mr and Mrs Sutherland, and trained at Levin b> Dave Enright. He was, a four-yeor-old by Mel lay from Blue Amber. Light Fingers filly PA Hamilton Light Fingers, the 1965 Melbourne Cup winner and runnerup in 1966, produced her fourth foal, a filly, recently. The foal was sired by Zephyr Fay. The mare’s owners, Mr and Mrs V. Dawson, of Pirongia, h ' e no plans to sell the unnamed foal. The mare’s last foal, a fillv. Nimble Fingers, sold for £3O 000.
