Five centuries

The Canterbury Cricket Association’s lower grade competition on Saturday was remarkable for fine individual performances —including five centuries. The top scorer was the High School Old Boys fifth grade batsman, D Palmer, who scored an unbeaten 130 against Lancaster Park. R. Cocks scored 111 for Police against Old Boys in the president’s grade, and J. Hobbs scored an unbeaten 110 for Christ’s College against Burnside-West University in the third grade. T. Lightfoot was another to score an unbeaten century, 109 for Sydenham against BurnsideWest in the ninth grade and J. Kiddey made exactly 100 for Riccarton against Lancaster Park in the fourth grade.
