Refusees expelled
I Thai authorities in the southern province, of Na-j Irathiwat expelled a boatload] of 168 Vietnamese refugees this week. but. their boat was damaged in a storm and! they returned to shore, Gov-1 eminent officials have said. I The refugees told officials they wanted to go to Aus-| tralia, but had to land be-| cause of engine trouble and! storms, which have lashed Thailand’s southern coastal provinces for several days. “We will definitely send them out as soon as possible,’’ an official told NZPA-Reuter, adding that, they might try to go on to Malaysia or Singapore. — Bangkok.
