S.A. cell death
NZPA-Reuter Johannesburg An 18-year-old black stud-! ent, Mr Bonaventura Sipho; Malaza, has died in detention] in Krugersdorp, members of; his family said yesterday. I He is the twenty-first black] known to have died in police detention since March last year. Mr Malaza’s mother, Mrs Gertrude Malaza. said police told the family he had hanged himself in his cell. A post-mortem examination had been ordered. The dead man’s brother, Mr William Begumuzi Malaza, said the youth had been taken away by security police on July 1. They had said at the time that he was being taken for questioning' and would be released the same day, the brother said.
