Quax in ‘rest of world’
NZPA staff corres. London New Zealand’s 5000 m world record-holder, Dick Quax, has been named as a definite starter in an international cross-country race to be held in northern England later this month. Quax was named yesterday as a member of a "rest of the world” team for the Schweppes international cross-country to be run at Gateshead on October 26. He is the only New Zealander to take part in the race, and will join a strong team including West Germany’s Michael Karst and Detlef Uhlemann, and lan Stewart, of Britain.
