Newspaper workers dispute resolved
PA Wellington A dispute as to whether newspaper workers would be paid for time off during an industrial dispute this week was resolved yesterday. The dispute, which immediately followed another | earlier this week over nego-[ tiating procedures on a pay: claim for a New Zealand! Press Association night! shift, involved journalists,! printers, and engravers of the “Evening Post,” Dominion,” and “Sunday Times.”
Because of it, the “Evening Post” was not published on Thursday, having also not been published on the previous two days because of the original dispute.
The president of the New Zealand Journalists* Union <Mr B G. Joyce) said yester-| day that after further discussion between the three! unions and the Newspaper! Publishers’ Association, and as proposed on Thursday, a recommendation had been made yesterday about time lost during the N.Z.P.A. dis-
