Jester Boy delayed

NZPA Sydney Jester Boy, a contender for the Auckland Cup on January 2, will be staying in Sydney until December 12. His New Zealand trainer and part-owner, Mr Frank Phillips, was unsuccessful in an attempt to get him on an aircraft from Sydney to Christchurch last Saturday. Jester Boy ran second in a welter event at Rosehill, but was too late reaching the airport to meet the aircraft’s departure time. He is now expected to have two further Sydney starts — the 2000 m Baulkham Hills Handicap at Rosehill on November 26 and the 1900 m Frank Underwood Cup at Canterbury on December 3. If there are no further hitches, the five-year-old gelding is expected to be back in Auckland to contest the Avondale Golf Cup on December 17.
