Hockey beds report sought
A “comprehensive” report on accommodation available at the national men’s hockey tournament at Masterton next August will be asked for by the New Zealand Hockey Association from the host province, Wairarapa. The N.Z.H.A. decided at a meeting of its management committee last evening to seek a report from Wairarapa after a letter was received from the Canterbury Hockey Association expressing concern at what appeared to be the small amount of accommodation available. The letter said that Masterton had barely enough beds to cater for the tournament; however, it was pointed out that more, accommodation was available at Carterton, 15km away. The C.H.A. asked that the NJZ.H.A. give consideration to changing the venue if adequate accommodation could not be provided. It also said Canterbury would consider not entering a team if satisfactory arrangements could not be made.
