Quinellas for Omoto
Greymouth reporter A special meeting of the Greymouth Jockey Club has reversed an earlier decision rejecting quinella betting. The secretary, Mr Rex Fitzgerald, said that the club would offer quinella betting on the three days of racing this season. The reasons for the change were that the equipment can be housed in the present totalisator building by rearranging window space, and that the extra payment of $9OOO from the T.A.B. payout enabled the club to finance quinella betting, which could cost up to $l6OO for the three days racing. The club can now provide betting for win and place on all races, true doubles on division races, quinellas on all races except division races, two concession doubles, the main T.A.B. doubles an on-course double only, and an on-course treble.
