Australian men slated
NZPA-Reuter New York The British actress, Susannah York, returned from a recent working tour in Australia less than impressed with Australian men, she told the “New York Post”- in an interview.
Miss York, interviewed in Toronto, where she is making a thriller called “The Silent Partner” with Elliott Gould and Christopher Plummer, said: “The men down there are utter chauvinist pigs.”
“They go off to the pub and drink beer while the wife stays at home. The women are deprived of sharing with the men.”
She added, “It’s no wonder, believe me, that Germaine Greer and Helen Reddy came out of Australia.”
