N.Z. teams fourth in bridge contest

Special correspondent Manila Both New Zealand teams were fourth yesterday in their respective contract bridge championships of the Far East in Manila.

After reaching first piace with an eight-nil win over Singapore, the New Zealand women ran into an ambush against India and lost outright. However, incorrect seating of the players in the second session necessitated a replay of 15 deals. The final outcome was not immediately available but progress scores indicated that New Zealand was unlikely to recover to a significant degree.
