Parliament's diary
Parliament took urgency on formal business, the introduction of four Government bills and the third reading of the S.I.S. Amendment Bill, when it sat at 9 a.m. yesterday. The Opposition forced and lost a division on the urgency motion, 26-35.
A statement on urban transport in New Zealand was tabled, and .the State Services Conditions of Employment Bill was introduced after a 36-26 division. <
The Finance Bill, the Wanganui Computer Centre Amendment Bill, and the Customs Act Amendment Bill were introduced. Ministers answered 17 questions.
The House then began the third reading of the S.I.S. Amendment Bill after a division won by the Government. 34-24.
