The procedure will be to carry out a survey of energy demands; to select a variety of possible generation schemes; to carry’ out an economic evaluation of each scheme; and to explore the problems involved in integration of co-generation technology within the operation of the works. The study will be carried out at the Belfast Freezing Works over 1978. A graduate engineer is required to carry out this project. He should have a degree in electrical, mechanical or chemical engineering and preferably some industrial experience. A competitive salary and good working conditions are available. The engineer will be based at Belfast, although would spend some time in the M.1.R.1.N.Z. laboratories at Hamilton at various stages of the project. The term of the appointment would be 15 months. Some prospects exist for a permanent appointment at M.1.R.1.N.Z. after this term.
