Centaury to Nicholson
A fine century by the opening batsman, Bryce Nicholson, helped Burnside High School to a 97-run victory over the Canterbury Cricket Supporters’ Club XI yesterday. Burnside’s total was boosted by a hard-hitting 72 by Dave Farrant, who dominated a partnership of 92 runs with Nicholson, and the Supporters XI lost wickets regularly after Barry Hadlee had been dismissed for 55. Scores. — Burnside High School 218/7 (Nicholson 103 n. 0., D. Farrant 72; D. Cockburn 3/31; beat Supporters 121 (Hadlee 55, M. C. Stonyer 23; P. Sullivan 3/28, B. Farrant 3/15).
