Immigration bill soon
Parliamentary reporter More legislation on immigration, notably the overstayer situation, would be introduced in Parliament soon, the Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon) said yesterday. He declined to reveal more about the measure, which was before the Cabinet yesterday and will go
before the Government caucus on Thursday. He said that the measure could be introduced before November 11. Asked whether it would affect overstayers who had not responded to the last amnesty, Mr Muldoon said, “If they’ are here illegally, it doesn’t need legislation to get them out.”
