$5M more for school buildings
Parliamentary reporter In a move to provide more work for the building industry-, the Minister of Education (Mr Gandar) announced that the Cabinet had authorised education boards and the Department of Education to proceed immediately with extra work to a total value of $5.6M. Of this, S2M will be allocated to education boards for additional maintenance work on school buildings. The remaining work, estimated to icost 33.6 M, includes SI.6M for minor capital works at primary schools, $400,000 for ! similar work at secondary schools, $600,000 for additional library-multi-purpose i rooms at existing primary
schools, $700,000 for replacement teachers’ houses, and [5300,000 for 1 additional fireprotection work.
