Four rivers clear
Four of the six major Canterbury' rivers should be clear and fishable this week-end, the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society has reported. The Hurunui River, the Ashley River, the Selwyn River, and the mouth of the Rakaia are all clear. While the Rakaia Gorge waters are clear, a nor’west wind is said to be blowing up and could cause problems. The Waimakariri River is slightly discoloured at both mouth and gorge, with a nor-west blowing inland. The Waiau River is described as very discoloured.
