The Department is equipped with several mini-computers and has on-line access to the University's Cyber 72 computer. It offers courses in Computer Science from first year to honours level, follow ed by M.Sc. and Ph.D. programmes. Appointee expected to teach and carry out own research. LECTURER IN EDUCATION (Post 77/53) Applicants should be prepared to teach social/cultural Foundations of Education courses and to provide general supervision of student teaching experience. Prefen ence will be given to candidates with substantial experience in secondary schools/ teachers’ colleges—departments of education who have worked in developing countries, The successful applicant will be one of a team teaching education courses both at diploma and degree level and will also be concerned with external courses in Education. LECTURER IN SOCIOLOGY (Post 77/54) Candidates from any field of sociology or social anthropology may be considered. Research and/or teaching experience within the south Pacific region will be an advantage. Salary in accordance with qualifications and experience on the scale $F6945 x 262 — 59827. In addition the University provides 15 p.c. gratuity, superannuation contribution, appointment allowance, partly furnished accommodation at a maximum rental at present of 15 p.c. of salary .
