The defeat of Checkers by Jaks-Old Boys has left Y.M.C.A. A and Y.M.C.A.-Litchfield sharing first place in the Canterbury men’s basketball summer league competition. Both are unbeaten after two rounds. Points are: Y.M.C.A. A 4. Y.M.C.A.-Litchfield 4, Checkers 2, Jaks-Old Boys 2. Soulseekers 2, Teachers’ College 2, Burnside HiS. 0, Burnside 0. The only two teams unbeaten in the women’s A grade are Mairehau and University. Points are: Mairehau 4, University 4, United 2, Hornby 2, Aranui H.S. 2, Teachers’ College 2, Checkers 0.
