Move to impeach Young
NZPA Washington A member of the United ’States House of Representatives, Mr Larry McDonald, and nine co-sponsors have introduced a House resolution calling for the impeachment of American Ambassador to the United Nations (Mr Andrew Young). Mr McDonald, a Georgia Democrat, accused Mr Young at a news conference of high crimes and misdemeanours primarily for promoting rule by black, Marxist groups in Africa. Mr McDonald said that Mr Young had aligned himself with world revolutionary forces and he called Mr Young a racist, apparentlyreferring to Mr Young’s advocacy of black rule in Rhodesia. The Congressmen did not introduce an impeachment resolution against Mr ’Young but rather a resolution by which the House would cal! for his immediate impeachment. Mr McDoI nald said the resolution was a preliminary step to impeachment itself.
