Addington Market Hogget values lift, cattle easier

i Prime hogget values made a rood recovery at the Addington ; Market yesterday. A feature of .; the section was the sale for some : 3f the good heax y-weight shorn ; hoggets. Although some sales were comparable with those of last week, most of the two-year-old cattle were $8 to $lO easier. Yearling heifers made up a large proportion of the yarding, and they ranged from average to very small and plain. Sales ranged from about $35 to S5O, With an occasional pen. to $6O. Useful yearling steers sold in the $6O to $7O bracket, and small at $35 to S5O. Two-year-old cattle often had their weakest sale for a considerable time, although some quite well-grown, forward pens sold well above the rest. Small to medium steers, in

Fat pigs A small yarding of fat pigs had a variable sale. The odd i pen of good quality porkers and! buconers sold very well, but many pigs which were inclined to overfatness had a slow sale, and they had a depressing effect on the market. A large yarding of choppers! had a firm sale, mainly at $4O j to $5O a head. Quality was much I better than usual. Values were:— ! Light and medium porkers, $4ll to $46. Heavy porkers. $46.50 to $34. Light and medium baconers. • $55 to $6l. Heavy baconers. to 565.25, with odd sales to $77. Store pigs Store pigs had an easier sale, particularly tn the closing stages. Values were:— Small weaners, $8 to $ll, Good weaners. $11.50 to $l7. Slips and small stores, $l6 to $25. Large stores, to $32.
