Manager of Cashel Street
The manager of the new Sim Cashel Street branch of Smith and Brown is Mr S. G. Ellis, who has been with the company for 23 years. He has had three years experience in furniture buying and was warehouse manager in an Auckland branch for some time. He has managed the branches at Karangahape Road, Panmure, Otahuhu and Manurewa. Mr Ellis wiH be supported by a staff of about 14 in the Cashel Street store, which occupies the ground floor (19,500 sq ft) of a five storey car park building erected by Don Forbes Construction Ltd next to the new car park where the well-known Tattersails Hotel stood. Access to and from the 450-space car park on the five floors above Smith and Brown is by a lift opening into the fully-car-peted showrooms. Displayed in the showrooms are a new and exciting range of furniture, furnishings, floor coverings, home appliances and sports equipment Much of the quality merchandise is exclusive to Smith and Brown.
