Fish tested for mercury
The Health Department has begun to take samples of fish from Christchurch wholesalers to check on mercury levels. The samples have been sent to the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research for analysis. The results are expected next week. The sampling will continue next month, when
the main fishing season off Canterbury begins.
