K Cup holders draw, 2-2

PA Masterton Last year’s joint K Cup section winners, Otago A and Hawke’s Bay, provided the sensation at the national women’s hockey tournament yesterday. The two sides were locked at 2-2 after normal time, and after two extra spells of 10 minutes the teams were still locked — each with the same number of penalty strokes and penalty comers. A meeting of the New Zealand Women’s Hockey Association management committee last night decided that the teams should replay the game today. In the other K Cup semifinal Auckland A made it through to tomorrow’s final with a 1-0 win over Canterbury A.
