Refugee clothing appeal
Fifty South-East Asian refugees will arrive in Christchurch on September 22 — jand the Red Cross Society appeals for clothing for them. ; One hundred refugees will begin their New Zealand settlement in Christchurch, and a second group of 50 will arrive on November 3. They are part of a total of 420 South-East Asian refugees, mainly from Vietnam, who have been accepted for settlement in New Zealand. Those arriving in Christchurch will stay at the Holy Name Seminary in Riccarton for four weeks, during which time they will undergo an

be assigned to sponsors. Miss Smith said 20 more sponsors were needed but so far only six were available. She said she was appealing to churches, community organisations, and service groups to offer their services.
