Bowls trophy challenge
Nelson will provide Canterbury with the sixth • and final challenge for the A. S. Paterson indoor bowls trophy at the Kearney’s Road Hall next Saturday. Of the Canterbury team, I only Bob Ludbrook, Leon
McLennan, and David Philpott qualified in the Canterbury fours and were eliminated in the final round of post-section play. The Canterbury team is Barry Weir, Ludbrook, Ray Watkin, Alf Williamson (skip), Philpott, BerI nard Melville, Gary Barnes, and McLennan, I (skip). The Nelson team is K. i Hoult, L. Berkett, W. George, B. Mcßrydie (skip), W. Bellis, B. Bruce, D. Scott. B. Beams (skip). The Town team to play combined Country at Lincoln on September 7 includes all the top players in Canterbury. The team is B. Clements, M. Watson, L. Bellis, K. Becker (skip), A. Roberts, H. Seales, D. Earl. D. Khouri (skip), S. Reed, .1. Furlonger. J. A. Burrows. I. Gale (skip), P. van Oosenan, T. Jackson, P. Fuller, J.
