Railways reshuffle this month

Top Railways officials ini Christchurch will undergo a big reshuffle this month when five executive officers retire! after 40 years service. The district traffic manager in Christchurch (Mr C. S.

Roscoe) will retire on Sep-; tember 20. He joined the Railways Department in 1937 as a cadet in the Christchurch goods shed. He spent the war, years with the Royal Navy; in the Indian Ocean and on his return held a variety of; South Island postings before being appointed transportlicensing officer at Auckland in 1953. He returned to Christ- j I church in 1974 as goods man- i ager. and was appointed toj his present post in 1975. He will be replaced by Mr D. M. Patchett, the senior industrial officer in the general manager’s office at Wellington.

Also retiring is the assistant district traffic manager 'Mr R. B. Walker). He will be replaced by the transport officer at Grevmouth (Mr D. J. Bradley). Other executives to retire this month are the district traffic officer (Mr L. R. Luxton). the senior district trainrunning officer (Mr K. P Sheales), and the goods manager for Christchurch .(Mr G. W Clauson). Mr Clauson will be replaced by the Christchurch stationmaster. Mr A. D. Laws. Mr Sheales’s replacement has yet to be announced, and Mr Luxton’s replacement is still to be confirmed.
