Warehouse and showroom open

This week marks a major step forward in the development of fancy goods wholesaling in the South Island. C. C. Toop, an

I associate company of the I major importing company, i L. D. Nathan (Wholesale), j Ltd, proudly announce the i opening of their new j wholesale showroomi warehouse facility at 328 ' St Asaph Street, ChristI church.

i C. C. Toop was estab--1 li-shed in Wellington in . 1950 by Mr Colin Toop. Rapid growth in importing | and wholesaling saw three -| shifts of premises before the company joined the I L.D. Nathan group of com-

I panies in 1964, and became ■ a member of the group's j fancy goods division. Expansion continued

under the control of L. D. Nathan and Co., Ltd, with

■ a branch being opened in Auckland and, in 1966. a showroom was established l in Armagh Street, Christ-

church. The growth of C. C. Toop in Christchurch saw three moves to larger premises in Manchester Street, Chancery Arcade and Durham Street before the establishment of this new, modern, self-service showroom and warehouse facility in St Asaph Street.

Retailers and bona fide wholesale purchasers can now select or order goods from attractive displays in comfortable surroundings. The development of these new premises has enabled a much wider range of goods to be accommodated and, with L. D. Nathan buyers visiting overseas markets on a continuing basis, there is a very broad range of topquality merchandise displayed. including glassware, crystal, chinaware, cutlery, silverware, jewellery and housewares. Many of the lines on dtsplav are imported from the

agencies held by L. D. Nathan Agencies, Ltd. These include such wellknown brand names as Aynsley China, Krups Electrical Appliances, Lalique Crystal, Noritake Dinnerware, Regency Bone China, Waterford Crystal. Arabia Enamelware ' and Hornsea Earthenware. The new showroomwarehouse complex marks the completion of the first stage of a development programme that will eventually see the direct importation into the Christchurch warehouse of all overseas merchandise for the South Island. This will eliminate for retailers costly delays in having merchandise forwarded from Wellington. The new showroom and warehouse facilities are complemented by an enthusiastic sales team under the direction of the branch manager. Mr Larry O'Rorke.
