French look at N.Z. broadcasting
PA Wellington Five Senators from the French Senate Committee on Cultural Affairs have met the Minister of Broadcasting (Mr Templeton) for a general discussion On broadcasting in New Zealand.
Mr Templeton said after the hour-long meeting that the talks had centred on the whole broadcasting system in this country, with special reference to the new Broadcasting Act and the role of the Minister. The visitors had also shown interest in broadcast-; ing finance, administration, and the impact of advertising- . , France was now involved in debate about access by politicians to television, and this aspect of the New Zealand system had also been discussed, said Mr TempleTon. Earlier the delegation met the chairman of the Broadjcasting Corporation (Mr lan Cross). .
