MARKEDLY WEAKER MARKET
The New Zealand sharemarket turned markedly weaker yesterday, and the N.Z.U.C. index fell 2.44 points to 277.20. The price for Dominion Fertiliser shares eased from 520 c to 485 c during the day, but the largest parcel sold for 505 c for a fall of Ic. However, one of its bidders, Kempthorne Prosser rose 5c to 165 c. Textiles, retailers, stock and station agents, and chemical manufacturers were mixed, and financiers, timbers, and insurers were easier.
