East Germans dominant
NZPA-Reuter San Cristobal (Venezuela). East Germany raced to the first three places in the amateur sprint to maintain their total domination of the world cycling championships. Hans Jurgen Geschke, at 34, finally won the sprint gold he has wanted for so long. Emanuel Raasch took the silver and Lutz Hesslich the bronze.
