University organ
A new pipe organ, which: cost more than $lO,OOO, has been installed in the School of Music at the university of Canterbury. The organ is a gift from | Mrs M. Bradshaw, whose late husband. Professor J. C. Bradshaw, was the first professor of music at the university, and was organist enoirmaster at Christchurch I
i: Cathedral from 1902 to 1937. Mrs Bradshaw has also I been closely associated with I the university. She was among the first students i admitted to Helen Connon! i Hall, a hall of residence fori . women, when it opened in 1918. Later, she was secretarv to Sir James Hight, a former rector of the univer-' isity.
