PA Wellington A special cricket coaching clinic to be conducted under the control of the national coach, Mr Martin Horton, will be held at Hagley Park, Christchurch, on October 2528. An official statement from the N.Z. Cricket Council yesterday said that the following players had been selected by the national selectors (Messrs F. J. Cameron, I. A. Colquhoun and J. R. Reid) in conjunction with Mr Horton, to take part in the clinic. — J. Ackland, J. Reid. G. Troup (Auckland), C. Dickeson, A. Stimpson, J.
I Wright (Northern Districts); D. Bracewell, G. Edwards, M. Gill, P. Holland, M. Toynbee (Central Districts); B. Edgar, R. Pither, R. Vance, P. Stonyanoff, R. White (Wellington); S. Bateman, S. Boock, K. Collins, J. Paterson (Canterbury); P. Hills, W. Lees, B. McKechnie, I. Rutherford (Otago). The statement said in view of the importance of the forthcoming season, (at the conclusion of which a team will be selected to tour the U.K.) the council’s board of control felt such a clinic was necessary in the early part of this season.
