Rugby referees’ conference?
NZPA - Reuter London George Burrell, manager of the British Lions rugby team which recently returned from a tour of New Zealand, yesterday called for an international conference of referees. Mr Burrell, a former inter-l national referee himself, andi the Lions’ coach, John! Dawes, were openly critical! on tour of some of the ref-j ereeing the Lions camel across. Differing methods of interpretation was the main problem, said Mr Burrell, and a referees’ get-together, would certainly be a step in the right direction.
