Bionic dog
NZPA Washington “The Bionic Woman” will introduce a bionic dog named Max in its two-part first episode when the series switches from A.B.C. to N.B.C. on September 10.
According to N.B.C. the bionic dog was developed six years ago, but now, “because he has become listless,” it is feared he is rejecting his bionics. Concerned that she might face similar rejection, Jamie, the bionic woman, pleads to have Max put in her care before he is put to sleep. Evel Knievel will do a show with Jamie later in the season, but one critic said, “No, he will not jump over Max.” A.B.C. axed “The Bionic Woman” from its new autumn schedule despite its popularity but N.B.C. picked up the show.
