Yesterday the Christ-church-Lyttelton Road Tunnel Authority gave its approval to 3ZB's offer to pick up the tab for tunnel tolls between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. on September 28. The authority's chairman (Mr V. G. Spiller) said he supposed the authority could not stop 3ZB paying the bill if it wanted to.
