Appeal aids Church
Special fund-raising has gone a long way towards helping the Presbyterian Church out of the financial
problems it expected to face at the beginning of its new financial year. A month before the end of the last financial year, it
needed $350,000 to balance
ts books. The finance committee expected to be at least $llO,OOO short. The Moderator (the Rt Rev. W. B. Watt) appealed o parishes throughout New '.ealand, and they have aised all but $50,000 of the imount needed. The Church will now start he new financial year with in overdraft of $50,000 in.lead of the expected 4)110,000. *
