N.A.C. may buy 737
PA Wellington The National Airways Corporation may buy a new Boeing 737 next year, to help cope with recent growth on the main-trunk route. The corporation’s general manager (Mr D. A. Patterson) said that senior N.A.C. engineers were in the United States this week for technical discussions with the Boeing Company. Mr Patterson said no suitable used 737 s were available. Mr Patterson said N.A.C. was negotiating with the Boeing company to provide engines for a new aircraft out of the corporation’s own pool, which would result in a substantial saving of overseas funds. A new 737 would bring the N.A.C. Boeing fleet to nine aircraft.
