Crowd and bets up
Betting again showed a worthwhile increase on the second night of the Metropolitan Trotting Club's national meeting on Saturday. The crowd of 8500 was well up on the 62.50 who attended the second night of the meeting last year when it was postponed until a Tuesday. On-course betting rose by $20,839 to $340,796, while the off-course total of $649,112.50 showed an increase of $74,306.50.
