Sir, — It appears strange that we are told to tighten our belts because of economic strife, and yet all Parliamentarians can accept a substantial wage increase. Perhaps, if they declined, it may have given the country a boost in the right direction, and so encourage the general public to tighten their belts. — Yours, etc., GAVIN BROWN. August 25, 1977.
