’Gang Show’ season starts soon
"Gang Show" time is here again — and the variety performance put on annually by' Christchurch scouts is attrac-[ ting good bookings at the James Hay Theatre. The “Gang Show” 1 has itsj roots in London in the l93o’s| and has spread to scouting! countries throughout die world. The writer of the firstj “Gang Show." Ralph Reader, continued to script the shows! until recently. Some of his oldest scripts have been! adapted for this year’s Christchurch show. The show is a variety per-1 formance incorporating sing-, ing. dancing, and acting and: will run from August 30 to' September 3. Scouts and leaders aged 11 to 50 will take part. The Christchurch "Gang' •Show” has remained an all-1 male show, although some: countries have brought girls; into the act. After the show finishes its! season at the James Hav Theatre a performance will; be given at the Templeton Farm School.
