Noting this in his annual report, the club’s president; (Mr C. R. G. He said that a new totalisator contract had been negotiated and had resulted) in a large increase in costs ; to the club. Mr Woodham said it was proposed to upgrade the 1
members’ stand. The new stand would be completed before the club’s June meetings. Three life members were elected by the meeting. They were, Messrs G. B. Trolove, J. D. Roberts and J. B. Nicoll. The vice-president of the club. Mr Trolove, retired for health reasons. Both he and Mr Roberts had given more than 20 years service, and Mr Nicoll retired last year after 50 years as secretary.
