WAIMEA’S DOUBLE DOSE
The Waimea Oil Boys senior rugby team won this year’s Nelson Bays senior club rugby championships and in doing so collected two very handsome trophies. The trophies, both of which were presented by the Canterbury Savings
Bank, are displayed by the team soon after the final match in the series At left, Alan Baynes, the vice-captain, holds the first round cup which the senior team earned when losing only to Celtic which it beat last Sunday in final round. The
trophy at right, held by the captain, Tony Greep, is for the seniorchampionships of five matches which the club won without losing any of its games. At right front is the Nelson Bays president, Mr Murray Strange, and to
his right, Mr Malcolm Newport, administrat'on manager of the NelsonMarlborough division of the bank, who made the presentations. Each member of the team received a medallion to commemorate the victory. j.
