Changes to Mini

Detail improvements to British Leyland’s Mini range for the British home market have been announced by the company in London. The changes range from the standardisation of reclining nylon trimmed seats on the Mini 1000 to the introduction of tinted glass of all Mini Clubman models. The Dunlop Denovo "run-flat” safety tyre becomes standard equipment on the Mini 1275 GT, the first time that such a tyre has ever been included on any model at no extra cost.

The improvements offered affect all five models in the Mini range. There are 13 improvements to the Mini Clubman saloon including the fitting of a leather-bound steering wheel and a lockable fuel cap. Reclining seats upholstered in cropped nylon become a standard fitting on the Mini 1000. Previously available as an option on the 1000 and standard on the Clubman and 1275 GT models, the cloth seats will be two-tone sorrel, beige or grey stripes on the Mini 1000 and 1275 GT.
