Ferrymead Historic Park, open daily, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Building Centre, colouring competitions daily until Friday, August 26; 8 to 12y ear-olds. Public Library (all activities II a.m. to noon): Friday, story hour. Spreydon Library (al) activities 2.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.); Friday, hat day. New Brighton Library (all
activities 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.): Friday, oregami. Sumner Library: special activities 2.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. each day including picture making, records, and stories. Redwood: children’s programme, daily 9.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. with puppetry, acting, stories and art work for children aged 5 to 12. Play, “The Hare and the Tortoise,” at the Repertory Theatre, tonight 7 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 2 p.m. No performance Monday (August 29). Performances next week: Tuesday to Friday, 7 p.m., concludes at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 3. Wharenui covered, heated, swimming pool open daily, 10 a.m. to noon, and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Art classes at Queen Elizabeth II Park, on Friday organised by recreation officers at the park. For 11 to 16-year-olds, enrolment essential. Phone 886-079.
